Terms of Service

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Please read this carefully.

By using Raise Some Funds — whether as a campaign creator or a donor — you agree to these terms in full. Key items: we charge a 4% platform fee on every donation, your donated principal earns yield for the platform while in escrow, and the 4% fee is non-refundable even if a campaign is cancelled.

1. Who We Are

Raise Some Funds ("the platform," "we," "us") is a decentralized crowdfunding protocol deployed on the Base blockchain. We provide software infrastructure that allows campaign creators to deploy fundraising contracts and receive donations in USDC. We are not a bank, payment processor, escrow agent, or financial advisor.

Because campaigns run as smart contracts on a public blockchain, Raise Some Funds cannot freeze, reverse, or delete any campaign or transaction once it has been confirmed on-chain.

2. Platform Fee

A 4% platform fee is deducted from every donation at the time it is received. This fee is calculated on the gross donation amount and is transferred immediately and automatically to the protocol's revenue contract. It is used to fund platform operations and a FUND token buyback-and-burn mechanism.

Example: A $100 donation results in $4.00 to the platform and $96.00 credited to the campaign.

The 4% fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, including campaign cancellation.

3. Aave Yield — Important Disclosure

The net 96% of every donation (after the platform fee) is automatically deposited into Aave V3, a decentralized lending protocol, on Base. This deposit earns variable interest while the funds remain in escrow.

All interest earned belongs to Raise Some Funds. It is used to fund infrastructure costs and platform operations.

Donors and campaign creators have no claim to any yield generated. If a campaign is cancelled, donors receive back exactly their net principal (the 96% credited at donation time) — not the principal plus interest.

By donating, you explicitly acknowledge and accept this arrangement.

4. Refunds & Campaign Cancellations

Only the campaign creator (owner) may cancel a campaign. Upon cancellation:

  • No further donations are accepted.
  • Donors may claim a refund of their net principal only — the amount credited to the campaign after the 4% fee was deducted.
  • The 4% platform fee is not refunded.
  • Any interest accrued on the principal during escrow is not refunded.
  • Refunds must be claimed individually by each donor via the campaign page.

Raise Some Funds does not issue refunds on behalf of donors or campaign creators. All refunds are executed directly by the smart contract and are governed by its code.

5. Campaign Creator Responsibilities

By creating a campaign, you represent and agree that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • All information in your campaign is truthful and accurate.
  • You are solely responsible for the campaign's content, the use of funds raised, and compliance with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction — including tax obligations on funds received.
  • You will not use the platform to commit fraud, misrepresent your identity, or raise funds for illegal activities.
  • You understand that once a campaign contract is deployed, it cannot be retroactively removed from the blockchain, even if you cancel it through our interface.

6. Donor Responsibilities

By donating to any campaign, you acknowledge that:

  • You have conducted your own due diligence on the campaign and its creator before donating.
  • Raise Some Funds does not verify, endorse, or review any campaign content or creator identity.
  • Donations are generally non-reversible once confirmed on-chain, except in the case of a campaign cancellation as described in Section 4.
  • You accept the Aave yield arrangement described in Section 3.

7. No Content Review

Raise Some Funds is a neutral protocol. We do not review, approve, or endorse any campaign before or after it is created. We have no ability to remove campaigns from the blockchain. The platform interface may, at our sole discretion, remove a campaign from our website frontend, but the underlying smart contract will continue to function independently on the blockchain.

Users are solely responsible for evaluating the legitimacy and appropriateness of any campaign they interact with.

8. Blockchain & Smart Contract Risks

By using this platform you acknowledge:

  • Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed.
  • Smart contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities. While our contracts have been designed with security best practices, they have not been formally audited by a third party. You use them at your own risk.
  • The value of USDC is designed to be stable at $1.00 USD but is subject to the risks of the issuing entity (Circle) and the broader financial system.
  • Aave V3 is a third-party protocol. While widely used, it carries its own smart contract and liquidity risks.
  • Gas fees are sponsored by the platform but may not be available at all times.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Raise Some Funds shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of funds, loss of data, or failure of a smart contract.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the platform shall not exceed the platform fees paid by you in the 30 days preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
